UV pens provide an economic and easy way of marking equipment with an invisible mark that only shows up under a UV light.

We would always recommend the use of the SelectaDNA or Selectamark marking systems ahead of UV pens for the following reasons:

UV pen markings are not visible to the naked eye, and do not therefore act as a theft deterrent.
UV markings are not permanent. The mark is degradable over a period of about 12 months, particularly if situated in direct sunlight or by the heat generated by electrical equipment like computers. The marks should therefore be re-applied on a regular basis.

However, if your budget doesn't stretch to the cost of a SelectDNA or Selectamark kit, then using a UV pen is better than doing nothing at all.

UV Lacquer Aerosol

The UV lacquer is supplied in a 6oz aerosol for spray applications using a template or mask. Suitable for many commercial applications including the marking of heavy machinery and plant. It can also be used to check for hairline fractures in the engineering environment. Do not inhale the vapours and do not use near a naked flame.

UV Re-admission Ink

The UV re-admission ink has been developed for application to the skin, and is ideal for use in the entertainment industry or for any events or parties where the re-entry of guests needs to be monitored. To be used with a stamp and and a dry ink pad (not supplied), this UV security ink is invisible to the naked eye until held under a UV lamp - click here to see our selection of UV lamps.

The ink is fast-drying, durable, non-transferable and once applied to the skin will last for about 24 hours. The ink is supplied in a 16 fl.oz. plastic bottle.

UV Tracer Powder or Paste

An invisible UV powder, supplied in a 10g container, which is ideal to connect a suspected thief to a crime. Once applied, the invisible powder will be transferred to the skin when contact with the item is made. The powder will then show up under a UV lamp to establish who has been tampering with the marked items. Ideal for use on documents, bank notes etc.

Also available in paste form, for use on metallic or smoother surfaces. To order, please specify UV TRACER PASTE.
