Introduction

Selectamark Security Systems plc, a world leader in Security products, has teamed up with Base2 of Australia, a world leader in security integrations for clients such as Microsoft HQ and Government Defence Agencies to offer Selectamark Sentry (“Sentry”), a highly modular and flexible fingerprint biometrics solution for Mission Critical applications such as Access Control in Prisons and People Identification at Boarder Crossings and Ports of Entry.

Product Description

Sentry is currently used by 42 Prisons in Australia providing a high level of security for access control for inmates, staff and visitors. Sentry’s modular nature lends itself not only to quick and powerful integration with client’s legacy systems and databases but also to a wide range of applications for Government Bodies wishing to control movements into and out of their territories. Selectamark Sentry is already a proven and robust solution for 42 prisons in Australia. Other possible applications include, Airport Security, Staff Time Clock, Customs, Hire Car Service, High Security Buildings, Tourism and Government Departments wanting to eliminate identity and credit fraud.

System requirements

The ideal solution requires Windows 2000 and is easily networked across sites. A fingerprint server is needed and is dedicated to cross-checking for duplicates i.e. enrolees against existing people on the database. With high volumes of enrolees, we recommend parallel processors for speeding up the detection of aliases or individuals wanting to commit identity and/or credit fraud.

Application overview

The system is split into a number of distinct applications as follows:
Fingerprint application;
System Administration Application;
System Reporting Application;
Enrolment Crosscheck Application;
Network Update Application;
Thin Client Application Server (optional)

This allows the different applications to be installed only on relevant computers, providing for a higher level of security.

Sentry has a full suite of system logs, security usernames and passwords in all modules.

System configuration

Sentry can be configured in standalone, local area network or wide area network.
