 Permanetch
The Permanetch marker is an ideal system to compliment our product range of marking equipment. As you might have read, our Selectamark marking system does not mark uncoated metals apart from Aluminium. Therefore, for these items we can offer you the Permanetch.
The Permanetch uses electrochemical etching, which enables it to mark any electrically conductive material. This means that you can permanently mark virtually any metal component - whether it is flat or curved - without deforming the surface or causing internal stresses as tends to be the case with stamps and presses. The mark is permanent as it etches away a small amount of the metal from the surface.
Electrochemical etching is used throughout industry wherever part numbering, identification, quality control, security marking or coding for traceability is required.
The Permanetch marker is a small, self-contained hand-held tool, which combines the power unit and marking head in one light and compact unit. This extremely versatile and easy to use metal marker represents excellent value - especially for batch marking. The marking head measures 41 x 22mm which enables a large amount of information to be marked during a single application.
The way the system works is by supplying low voltage electrical power to the marking head and through the work piece in order to etch the surface. In order to mark the item with the relevant information, you require a stencil. Standard paper stencils are supplied blank and can be encoded using a typewriter or dot matrix printer, but for the best results you can order our Selectamark stencils or even Logomark if a particular logo is required.
The Permanetch system comprises a power unit, marking head, electrolyte, cleaner and blank paper stencils. The Permanetch is available in either 240v (standard mains supply) or 110v versions.
